About Us
Ofogh Tamin Energy Toos Company owns more than 99% of the shares of the Toos Power Plant and is responsible for its management and operation.
The Toos Power Plant, consisting of four 150‑MW steam units, is one of the country’s distinguished power plants and among the largest electricity generation centers in Khorasan Razavi Province. The plant is located 12 kilometers northwest of Mashhad, on the foothills of the Binalud Mountains and near the historic city of Toos. Construction of the Toos steam power plant began in 1982.
One of the plant’s notable features is its use of an air‑cooled condenser system, in which air is used as the cooling medium for steam instead of water, resulting in significant water conservation. With a total capacity of 600 MW, the plant supplies approximately 1.8% of the country’s total electricity and about 18% of the electricity required by Khorasan Razavi Province.
To become a leading company in the field of technical and engineering services, procurement, and investment in distributed power generation plants, heat recovery systems, and renewable energy across the country; to serve as a reference company for engineering services, consultancy, and design within the Social Security Investment Company (Shasta), the TAPICO Holding, and Tamin Energy Development Management; and to be a pioneering organization in supervising maintenance, repair, and operational activities of power plant units, petrochemical facilities, and related industries.
